Alpa Bhungalia
Co-Founder
Born and raised in the US, Alpa always sought to honor her Indian roots through fashion. Inspired by her mother’s sewing and driven by the lack of quality South Asian styles for the diaspora, she co-founded Silai to bring thoughtful, authentic designs to a global audience.
Shweta Patel
Co-Founder
Born and raised in India, Shweta has had a deep appreciation for fine heritage fashion since her childhood, when she would custom design her outfits with her mother. Now a new mom, Shweta’s hands are the first to touch your clothes. She oversees our studio and team of skilled artisans in Surat.
